The HE family of fully-enclosed, vertical drives are designed for today’s highest performance single axis solar trackers, delivering multiple Kinematics innovations. The HE series uses KMI’s proven slew gear technologies, with customizable dual output torque tube interfaces and integrated mounting flanges for direct post attachment, lowering costs and making installation more efficient.
HE drives are available in four sizes, with multiple mounting and torque tube configurations possible. Performance ranges from 15kNm to 39kNm of holding torque, and 2.5kNm to 8kNm of output torque. Gearbox reduction ratios of 51:1 up to 61:1 are available. Get detailed specifications.
The KMI HE drive is the most commonly used actuator in the global single-axis solar tracking market, offering robust design, high torque and lowest lifetime cost. This drive will accurately position a long row of panels for decades, ensuring optimal energy harvesting.
Kinematics slew drives are powered with patented hourglass worm technology to give increased efficiency and accuracy. Unlike standard worms which touch only one tooth, our hourglass worm engages 5 to 11 teeth on the pitch line of the ring gear from the hourglass thread. This increased tooth engagement gives the gearbox enormous strength and power. See how the hourglass worm improves performance.
KMI HE design is covered by multiple issued and pending patents, including:
