Description
Kinematics slewing drives are designed, tested and used for a 30 year field life. All aspects of engineering control are based on satisfying a low cost, reliable solution with 30 year performance guarantees. We qualify the raw materials, components and final assemblies to meet these standards. Kinematics has a tremendous indoor/outdoor test laboratory where overload, life cycle, stiffness and accuracy tests are performed daily.
Kinematics drives are powered with hourglass worm technology to give the maximum survivability load holding capability as well as increased efficiency and accuracy. The hourglass worm engages multiple teeth on the pitch line of the ring gear from the hourglass thread, unlike standard worms which touch only 1 tooth. This increased tooth engagement of 5 to 11 teeth gives enormous strength and power to the gearbox.
We manufacture a wide variety of model sizes, performance ranges, and mounting characteristics. We currently make 10 base model sizes from 75mm to 800mm in diameter. The performance load characteristics range from 6kNm to 220kNm of holding torque, 200Nm to 63kNm of output torque, 500Nm to 271kNm of overturning moment load capacity, and gearbox reduction ratios of 30:1 up to 156,600:1. The mounting can be done horizontal, vertical, or with multiple axis in combination there of.
You may order the housing to be open (exposed gearing) or enclosed housing which is totally sealed to the extremities. We offer drives with dual axis of rotation (turning in separate axis at the same time) and with dual drive on the same axis (2 worm threads driving the same ring gear in 1 axis)
Typical slewing drive applications include solar power, wind turbines, truck cranes, man lifts, utility equipment, hydraulic equipment attachments, oil tool equipment, tire handlers, digger derricks and automotive lifts. There are too many other applications to all be listed as the slewing drive is perfect for applications requiring both load holding and rotational torque from the same gearbox.
We manufacture many different types of gearing, and offer the drives with different types of intermediary reductions and input power. The gearing can be either self locking (will not turn when back driven from the ring, does not require a brake), or overrunning gears which can be back driven. For installation to hydraulically driven equipment we install a hydraulic motor. For electrically driven we install an intermediary planetary reduction then an electric motor.
