Company History

Kinematics Manufacturing was founded by Brent Morgan in the outskirts of Los Angeles on March 5th of 1996.  Today we are the largest manufacturer of slewing drives in the world and make a variety of other complementary gearboxes for OEM’s (Original Equipment Manufacturers).  Our marketplace approach is simple, we listen to our customer’s desires and find a way to bring the ideas to life.  We’ve spent the last 14 years making geared solutions others thought were impossible and hold 11 patents to our name.

In the early years we worked with only 2 employees designing, machining and assembling one off and very small quantity run gearboxes for various mobile equipment and offshore hydraulic markets.  We pursued the jobs others couldn’t easily accomplish by designing, manufacturing and delivering a gearbox specifically suited to the application in a very short time.  As the business grew we turned to become strictly a supplier to the OEM’s, but still pride ourselves on quickly turning out new products at the wish of our customers. 

In 2002, to meet cost, quality, and production requirements of our growing customer base we shuttered our US manufacturing to raise our own plants in China.  In Phoenix, Arizona we set-up an American sales, warehouse and repairs facility, hiring a professional manager with 20 years experience in the US manlift market to run the North American operations.  In 2009 we added a similar facility in the centrally located port city of Alexandria, Egypt to service Europe and the Middle East, run by a long time trilingual Kinematics employee with engineering degree who’s spent a lifetime engaging customers in this multifaceted part of the globe.

The marketplaces we supply include Solar Energy, Manlifts, Cranes, Industrial positioners, high torque Oil Field Tools and the Clean Energy Markets among others.  Today we employ 155 persons on 3 continents, with customers in 23 countries and see no limits to our future.
